MEET FOUNDER, COURTNEY GRADY
Courtney Grady, Founder of Unique Sisters all girls mentor program serves a diverse group of young ladies between the ages of 8-17 years old. As creator of their “Four Pillars of Success” curriculum she strives to develop strong socio-emotional skills within her girls. Courtney's vision is to provide endless opportunities to all Unique Sisters mentors and mentees to "Reach For The World". As Senior Facilitator she encourages and demonstrates positive self-awareness, community outreach, academic preparation, and family engagement.
In 2016, Unique Sisters was founded during a time in Courtney’s life where she found herself wanting to feed her passion of coaching and mentoring young woman of all ages. Courtney met a beautiful 13 year old girl who identified herself as a “Chihuahua” referring to her being “wild and uncontrollable”. In that moment of sadness and disappointment Courtney knew there had to be an opportunity to encourage change within this young lady's heart. "Unique Sisters is an organization that empowers and embraces “Sisterhood”. We bring together influential leaders to educate, encourage, and engage our girls", said Grady.
Courtney has received both her Bachelors of Science in Organizational and Public Relations and Masters of Science in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. She is committed to the success of young people as she is also known for her work in the education sector. With close to a decade worth of educational experience she takes academic proficiency very seriously. As a Detroit Education Intervention Specialist she specializes in analyzing individual student data, and provides targeted tutoring services to students who are not preforming at academic grade level. Courtney has successfully supported over 60 staff members through enhancing professional development goals, and over 1800 students from Detroit Public School Community District to achieving academic success.
